Ana María Torres is “La Guerrera” a young boxer from a poor neighborhood in the suburbs of Mexico City whose only dream in life is to become world champion.
“La Guerrera” portrays three years of the life of Ana María Torres a boxer from Nezahualcóyotl who dreams of being the best fighter in the world. The eldest daughter of a family of 9 siblings whose father has long since left, Ana María is an example to follow for all her family. Passionate and very disciplined, she fights hard to achieve her goals but things start to get complicated for due to the romantic relationship she has with her coach, an older man who is not loved by her family. Add to this the obstacles of his career and the sometimes dirty fights of his rivals. An intimate look at the life of a fascinating woman who transforms over time, bringing out her true champion within by confronting herself and overcoming her fears.
